The Style:
“Raging Dance Party” is DJ Maskell’s style as a wedding DJ; always beatmatching and mixing on the turntables while reading the crowd and amplifying the atmosphere using dozens and dozens of wireless led lights (included free with all weddings) to deliver a room-filling dynamic light show that is actively driven by DJ Maskell to ramp up the intensity of the party.
The Background:
His style stems from a background in DC nightclubs and 20+ years of wedding, production, and special events experience, but his expertise extends far beyond simply rocking the party. DJ Maskell has worked extensively as a wedding planner and coordinator and works closely with clients to ensure that every detail is meticulously plotted out so that the day flows smoothly.
The Sound:
The core Maskell sound is loaded with the best-known bangers and hits in current dance, pop, electronic, and hip hop (thoughtfully balanced with a little music for the parents’ generation too!) He works closely with the couples to feel out their style and bring that flair to the dancefloor, including throwing in international music for mixed-culture weddings.
The No-Crap Policy:
“You will never hear horrible songs like YMCA, Electric Slide, Macarena, Chicken Dance, etc. coming out of my speakers. Ever. In my opinion, any DJ that plays that stuff should be sentenced to a lifetime ban from DJing, and should probably be tarred and feathered for our amusement.” – Mark Maskell

How many hours do your bookings include?
The flat rate fully covers a typical wedding with about 2.5 hours setup, 6 hours of performance time, and about 1 hour for breakdown. There is no fee for extra performance time to the maximum extent practical.
For bigger productions and/or more challenging spaces, an added assistant or production crew member may be required if the necessary setup and breakdown time significantly exceeds the typical time or the time permitted by your venue.
Is ceremony coverage included?
Yep, wireless mics and sound are included for an on-site ceremony under the flat rate.
Is there a charge for uplighting?
42-piece wireless uplighting is included at no cost for wedding bookings along with a pretty sick lightshow. Additional uplighting is available at industry standard rates.
Can you play international music?
Yes, DJ Maskell has played dozens of weddings with mixed cultures including Latin American, Persian, Arabic, French, Bosnian, Russian, Indian, and many many more. He always enjoys learning about new cultures and music and is happy to put in the extra time to familiarize himself with the music and weave it into a solid, mind-blowing, face-melting musical set.
You said something about wedding coordination?
In the absence of a coordinator, DJ Maskell works very closely with clients in the weeks and months leading up to the wedding to plot out the day-of logistics in extensive detail, coordinate with other vendors, then execute on the day-of. He also help you to organize, track, idiot-proof, and delegate tasks to your friends and family that a coordinator would normally handle, such as setup, decor, and cleanup.
What do you wear at weddings?
A white thong leotard with a pink tutu, ballet slippers, and a pretty star wand along with a shiny princess tiara from Claire’s in the mall. $5.00 extra for matching facial glitter. I hate glitter.
